Belcampo (Naarden, 21 juli 1902 – Groningen, 2 januari 1990) was het pseudoniem van de Nederlandse schrijver en arts Herman Pieter Schönfeld Wichers. "Belcampo" is de italiaanse vorm van zijn achternaam "Schönfeld": = "mooi veld".

Hij groeide op in Rijssen, studeerde notarieel recht in Leiden en Amsterdam en werkte korte tijd op een advocatenkantoor.

In de jaren dertig ging hij op reis door Europa en publiceerde daarover in 1938 De zwerftocht van Belcampo, een bundel verhalen die hij net als De verhalen van Belcampo in eigen beheer uitgaf. In 1937 ging hij medicijnen studeren. Op 13 april 1949 legde hij het artsexamen af en van 1953 tot 1967 was hij studentenarts in Groningen. In 1958 schreef hij Het grote gebeuren, een novelle die zich afspeelt in Rijssen. Met enige ironie beschrijft hij de Apocalyps zoals die er volgens hem uit zal zien, waarin de Rijssenaren hun angsten zagen uitgebeeld in legers van duivels en engelen die op de Dag des Oordeels de rekening komen vereffenen. Dit werd hem in het christelijke bastion niet in dank afgenomen. Jaap Drupsteen bewerkte het verhaal op magisch-realistische wijze voor televisie; de uitzending op Oudejaarsavond 1975 was een groot succes.

Op 2 januari 1990 overleed Schönfeld Wichers. Hij werd, nadat zijn stoffelijk overschot met een platte boerenkar is vervoerd, op 5 januari 1990 naast zijn vader begraven op de Oude algemene begraafplaats in Rijssen.

Pogingen hem in Rijssen te eren met een standbeeld of straatnaam stuitten bij het gemeentebestuur op verzet. In het dagblad Tubantia liet wethouder W. Markvoort aantekenen: "Schönfeld Wichers heeft hier in zijn jeugd inderdaad gewoond en zijn boek 'Het grote gebeuren' speelt zich ook in onze stad af, maar verder staat hij als schrijver toch vrij ver van ons, als gemeente, af."

La fascination du pire

L'histoire veut que le narrateur soit invité au Caire pour une conférence de quelques jours. Il retrouve dans l'avion un écrivain, Martin Millet, assez célèbre pour ses écrits tendancieux. Ce Millet a pour bible Flaubert qui avait parcouru l'Egypte et encensé la beauté de ses femmes nues, sensuelles et offertes à l'amour. On se souvient de son Voyage en Egypte. En contre-point, Millet va découvrir et redécouvrir des corps camouflés et des désirs exacerbés. Cette déconfiture va entraîner les deux écrivains dans des escapades de plus en plus saugrenues, leur but étant de parvenir à découvrir du sexe derrière les masques et les voiles.

De nos jours, il est de bon ton de cumuler tradition houellebecquienne et auto-fiction beigbederienne. L'écrivain n´est-il pas ce dandy noctambule et désanchanté qui ouvre les journaux de temps en temps et récupère les nouvelles pour pondre un grand cru? Peut-être. Et c´est tant mieux.

En lisant les divers critiques sur le net, on se rend compte que tout le monde n´est pas fasciné par le pire. Peut-être. Et c´est tant mieux.

En ce qui me concerne, fascinée par le meilleur de Florian Zeller qu´on croirait le petit frère de Houellebecq. Une telle filitiation relève du meilleur. Peut-être. Et c´est tant mieux.

A film about joy, about division & Ian Curtis. I liked the film, back in black and very minimal, with a great photography. I was expecting much more music though.

Anton Corbijn is a photographer and director from Strijen, the Netherlands. He is also well known for directing music videos, including Depeche Mode's "Personal Jesus" (1989) and the award-winning video of Nirvana's "Heart-Shaped Box" (1993), as well as directing the award-winning Ian Curtis biopic Control. He is widely acknowledged by the music industry, mainly for being the creative director of the visual output of prominent bands like Depeche Mode and U2, having handled the principal promotion and sleeve photography for both for more than a decade.

Nuit Blanche 2007

Sandrine is back from Paris, Nuit Blanche 2007. She has been walking in Jardins de Luxembourg, seeing Monets water lilies in Musée de l´Orangerie, drinking 1 liter of red Chinon, warmig up herself in Les Tuileries.
Wandering for 5 hours across Paris in the middle of the night. Watching Björk and Beck short films by Michel Gondry in Châtelet Theater, resting for a couple of hours there, being kicked out at 5 o´clock, running along the Seine.
She went to the Madeleine church, dipped 1 croissant in her capuccino for breakfast.
She´s got kaleidoscopic eyes, took her Thalys back to Amsterdam, slept 3 hours and applied for a PhD position.

Après Control d'Anton Corbijn et 24 Hour Party People de Winterbottom, regardé hier le documentaire Joy Division (2007) réalisé par Grant Gee avec la coopération de l'un des papes de la pop, Jon Savage (mon dieu, vite lire England's Dreaming!). Outre un ultime et très intéressant témoignage sur le groupe post-punk de Manchester, le film livre un certain nombre de clips passés à la télévision à l'époque, des interviews des trois survivants du groupe – Peter Hook, Stephen Morris, et Bernard Sumner – ainsi que de Tony Wilson, Peter Saville, Pete Shelley des Buzzcocks, Paul Morley, Terry Mason, Richard Boon, Anton Corbijn, et chose plus rare d'Annik Honoré, avec qui Ian Curtis était lié. Le documentaire recrée par un assemblage intelligent d'images de Manchester des années 70 et de la Manchester moderne l'atmosphère d'aliénation urbaine, d'espaces et de claustrophobie dans laquelle les deux albums de Joy Division – magistraux et d'une puissance souterraine – furent produits.

"I never thought I would have to do this but once the project was rolling it was better that they really understood how Ian was: attentive, emotional, solitary, sick, altruiste, comprehensive, labourous, talentful. But in daily life he could be humourous, he loved fooling around. He wasn't gothic at all you know!"
